Summary
The IT Support Engineer is primarily responsible for ensuring that end users at every level of the organization receive the appropriate support by participating in problem resolution through hands-on and remote troubleshooting of both hardware and software.
Technology support responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Primary responsibilities:
• Diagnose problems and troubleshoot all TWP-approved hardware including, but not limited to, desktops, laptops, handheld devices, audio-visual systems and printers.
• Provide support for TWP-approved applications for all departments including Institutional Sales, Trading, Private Client, Asset Management, Investment Banking, Finance, Research, HR, and Property Management, as well as for TWP clients when called upon to do so.
• Staff the TWP Technology Helpdesk, which includes monitoring and responding to client emails and telephone calls.
• Monitor and track trouble calls via the TeamTrack ticketing system and escalate issues to appropriate personnel as necessary to ensure prompt and accurate resolution.
• Participate in the on-call support engineer rotation to provide after-hours support.
• Assist with corporate conferences as requested by setting up the necessary technologies at the conference venues and providing on-site and occasional off-site support.
• Setup and coordinate audio-visual meetings in conference rooms.
• Facilitate user and departmental moves by relocating and setting up user equipment including computers and phones.
• Address equipment, training and support issues of new hires, visitors and exiting employees.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all TWP equipment using TeamTrack and our in-house Asset Management System.
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Create and deploy desktop/laptop images utilizing the Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) and client migration utilities.
• Test and apply OS and Application patches, fixes and upgrades on TWP desktops and laptops.
• Perform BigFix administration tasks including creation, testing, and deployment of BigFix MSI packages for applications, critical updates and security patches.
• Create, test and deploy GPO packages for desktop applications and security updates.
• Setup, support and administer TWP-approved handheld devices and systems including BlackBerry devices, BlackBerry Enterprise Server and Windows Mobile handhelds.
• Provide support for TWP sub-tenants including, but are not limited to, setting up equipment, configuring and performing data backups,and addressing data security and mail issues on a variety of Linux and BSD platforms.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Head of Technology Operations.
Education and Experience:
• Associates Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred, though comparable work experience will be considered in lieu of all or part of the educational requirement.
• Two (2) years of experience offering Technical Support at an Investment Banking or comparable Financial Institution.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficiency in industry-standard applications including, but not limited to, Bridge, Bloomberg, Lava, Bear Prime/WebShell, Fidelity StreetScape, Fidessa trading applications, Factset, and Deal Maven applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to articulate technical solutions to end users in layman’s terms.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to diplomatically address users’ technical issues and problems and to corroborate with peers on projects and tasks.
• Ability to multi-task and address multiple and occasionally conflicting priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to demonstrate proactive approach to problem resolution, strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications and operating systems including Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional, and the Microsoft Office Professional suite of applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Knowledge of multimedia and security application software.

Up to 10%
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds as necessary for moving and setup of technology equipment
